Hurricane Storm Relief in Banner Elk NC

On September 27, 2024, the remnants of Hurricane Helene hit Banner Elk, Avery County and surrounding areas. Historic flooding rushed through the valleys, wiping out everything in its path. High winds downed many trees and damaged homes above the valleys. The flooding in the town of Banner Elk caused extensive damage to the water and sewer lines.

In the wake of the storm, a tremendous wave of love, donations and volunteers flowed into our area. THANK YOU! While much progress has been made in our recovery, we will have needs for years.

How to help? Below is a list of places to volunteeer or donate financially. Due to the overwhelming amount of item donations, plus do not send any additional supplies.
