A Unique Program for College Students
Clutch, our college fellowship, continues to thrive. We welcome approximately twenty students at our weekly gatherings. During the 2014-2015 academic year we have based our discussions on a series of videos published by Rob Bell. Our focus, during these discussions, has been on analyzing, thinking about and articulating the ways our faith informs and impacts our lives, as well as how the events of our lives impact our faith. The discussions have been fun and spirited. We always ate well. Carol Larson has coordinated this part of Clutch, as much as she has been able this year. We have been blessed to have many of the ladies in our congregation come forth and prepare meals. It’s hard to imagine a more tangible example of love, than preparing and serving food. We try to feed both their bodies and their spirits.
Over the course of the year the students have helped collect money and food for the “Souperbowl of Caring”, packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, helped move our Thanksgiving Turkey Boxes and decorate our sanctuary. In many ways, the “children before us” at this time are college students, and we are blessed by their presence, their enthusiasm and their commitment.
